Community Development Programs

The Philippine Mining Act of 1995 (Republic Act No. 7942) is the primary legislation governing the exploration, development, utilization, and processing of mineral resources in the Philippines. It mandates responsible mining practices that focus on environmental protection, safety, and the development of local communities. Companies are required to implement Social Development and Management Programs (SDMPs) for host communities in the life of its mining operations and a Community Development Program during its exploration stage.

Crescent together with the community implemented about 95 % of the 1st approved Community Development Program (CDP), amounting to 829,500.00 and an additional 3,000.000.00 was approved and is being implemented and will be completed by end of March 2027.

Credited projects, programs and activities considered in enhancing the development of the host and neighboring communities. are those under the following : human resource development, livelihood programs, social -agricultural infrastructure programs, education, health and socio-cultural protection.

For the development of mining technology and geosciences, credited programs include the following: related basic and advance research such as Filipino and Foreign (Japanese) Geology students research and documentation. Training and scholarships.

Lastly is the promotion and awareness programs including expenditures for information and publicity centers, publication of IEC materials and other public awareness efforts and educational campaigns for the dissemination of mining and mining related information, issues and concerns.
